The cross is the revelation of a God who wanted to share our suffering in solidarity far has been with us sinners, that is bringing his love to the heart of our own enmity. St. Paul says, "God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Rom 5:8). Remember the words of a Father of the Church: "The greatest sin is not believing in the energies of the Resurrection", or despair of divine mercy.
